We are thrilled about the adoption of a landmark Resolution on Diabetes (WHA74.4) at the 74th World Health Assembly on May 27, 2021! The Resolution includes measures on the prevention and treatment of diabetes, including streamlining regulatory requirements to facilitate and ensure access to quality-assured insulin, biosimilars, and related health products and improve market transparency of diabetes medications. We especially welcome the request for concrete guidance to Member States on ensuring uninterrupted treatment of people living with diabetes in humanitarian emergencies. This is an important milestone in global efforts to improve diabetes care and access to insulin, including in humanitarian settings!
